Hello and Welcome to INTL!
The International Affairs Business Unit (INTL) is the starting and contact point for KIT's international activities in research, teaching, and innovation. We at INTL offer comprehensive advice and support for international and German students, researchers, and KIT employees. By supporting international cooperation projects and partnerships, we promote KIT's internationalization at all levels and enable mobility for all career levels.

On 22 May 2026, KIT’s Energy Center welcomed research students from Queensland University of Technology (Australia), University of North Carolina at Charlotte (USA), and University of Waterloo (Canada). The students from partner universities will spend three to four months at KIT. The program is organized by the International Students Office (IStO) and funded by the Schroff-Stiftung, Reinhard Frank-Stiftung, Gips‑Schüle-Stiftung, and the KIT Stiftung. The first IMPULSE Get Together for fellows will take place on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at KIT.

Discover Europe, learn new things, study in a network: The application phase for the EPICUR Winter Program 2026/27 starts on Thursday, June 4, 2026! KIT students of all disciplines will have access to an exciting range of innovative courses - online, hybrid or on-site at EPICUR partner universities. Scholarships are also possible.
MoreStarting Wednesday, June 3, 2026, the International Scholars and Welcome Office (IScO) will offer an open German conversation group for international scholars. The meetings will take place weekly on Wednesdays from 17:00 to 18:00hrs in Building 50.20, Room R005. In a relaxed setting, participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and network without any pressure to perform and regardless of their language proficiency. All interested parties are welcome; registration is not required.

The new Eucor Seed Money call for proposals supports cross-border projects in teaching, research, and innovation with a total budget of 300,000 euro. Selected projects are eligible for funding starting February 1, 2027, for a maximum duration of 24 months. The application deadline is September 24, 2026, at 17:00 hrs.

Starting in May 2026, the "Good Morning, Karlsruhe!" welcome series will also take place at Campus North Campus. The next meeting will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00hrs. There, international researchers and academic guests will receive an initial orientation, personal support, and a variety of opportunities for networking in a welcoming atmosphere.

Ron Kikinis, Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School (HMS), is receiving this year's “International Excellence Award of KIT” and the “Fellowship of SCHROFF Foundation.” KIT is thus honoring the globally recognized expert in the fields of medical image processing, image-guided therapy, and biomedical informatics. Starting March 30, 2026, the International Scholars & Welcome Office will offer regular open-door consultations at the KIT North Campus. International visiting researchers at all career stages are welcome to stop by for advice without an appointment. Open Door Consultations will be held Monday through Wednesday from 10:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs and from 13:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs in Building 141, Room 139.
