On March 01, 2016, Daniela von Rüden started work as refugee coordinator at KIT. She is the central contact person for the support and integration of refugees at KIT.

Consultations take place with the support of the KIT study ambassadors in different languages (German, English, Arabic).

Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., building 50.20, first floor, room 005.

Information events for refugees

Once per Semester the study ambassadors of KIT inform interested persons in these events about the various training and study opportunities in the region as well as the corresponding requirements for the application process.

Lecture series World Science Café

What does everyday research in crisis regions look like? What does an autocratic climate do to science? How can one imagine the academic life in Syria, Uzbekistan or Turkey? The lecture seriesWorld Science Café of the ZAK in cooperation with the International Scholars & Welcome Office (IScO) of the KIT served to allow refugees and vulnerable scientists to speak.

bunt - Karlsruhe

bunt is a cooperation of diverse organizations – among them KIT - that are active in the region of Karlsruhe. 18 institutions with volunteers and full-time employees from various fields of work decided to cooperate together in order to improve and expand their network and their diverse range of activities to be able to present them more clearly to the outside world. With this cooperation, bunt aims to contribute to better support for refugees in Karlsruhe. The website offers the following categories: education, work, help services, leisure and accommodation.
