Help and Advice on Discrimination
Unfortunately, discrimination is still part of our everyday lives. It should always be taken seriously.

International Student Hub
The International Student Hub offers international degree-seeking students comprehensive advice and support.
A visit is possible without prior appointment.
We answer questions about studying and living in Karlsruhe, refer you to the relevant offices if necessary, provide support with personal or organizational challenges and provide information on topics such as financing your studies and leisure activities.
The International Student Hub is located on Campus South.

Workshop: Housing in Germany - Rights & Responsibilities
This workshop offers international students an introduction to housing in Germany.
It covers key terminology and required documents for finding accommodation, as well as tenants’ rights and responsibilities. In addition, participants will learn essential housing rules and practical everyday tips to help them start living in their first home in Germany with confidence and good preparation.

Just arrived at KIT and feel like you missed a few important things? Don’t worry - we’ve got you covered.
Our Workshop for Latecomers is your fast-track guide to starting your studies at KIT with confidence. In just two hours, you will get the key information every international student needs to settle in and navigate university life.
We will cover four essentials for a smooth start:
- Immigration & Enrollment – residence permit, housing registration, health insurance
- Home Sweet Home – tips for finding accommodation in Karlsruhe
- Academic Toolkit – CAS, KIT ILIAS and your KIT e-mail
- Social Life & Networking – meeting people and getting involved on campus
Participation is free, but spots are limited to 20 students per session. Sign up via Campus Plus and secure your place. Please select the best session that fits you!
Q&A-Session with Ausländerbehörde (Immigration Office)
Ask your questions about residence permits and immigration procedures.
A representative from the Immigration Office will attend the session and share helpful information on residence and immigration matters. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions in a Q&A session afterwards.
Whether new to KIT or a long-time resident of Germany, this event provides a friendly setting for networking, useful insights and the opportunity to start the day together with the international academic community.
Enhancing Your Well-Being: A Resource-Oriented Workshop for Student Life
Studying abroad can be exciting, but it can also come with challenges. This workshop series offers a supportive space for international Bachelor’s and Master’s students from KIT and Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences to connect, share experiences and learn from each other.
Together, we will reflect on student life, exchange practical tips and explore resources that support your well-being during your studies.
The sessions are guided by a professional coach, who will introduce helpful self-care strategies and practical tools to manage stress, strengthen resilience and maintain balance in everyday student life.
A chance to connect with fellow international students, reflect on your experiences and take care of your well-being.
Sessions are held in English and participation is free of charge.

Then don’t miss the International Fair.
Studierendenwerk, International Students Office and AStA,invite you to explore the diverse international community at KIT. University groups, student initiatives and organizations with an international focus will present their activities and show you how you can get involved.
The International Fair is also a space for international students to share a piece of their culture. Expect information stands, short talks, stage performances, presentations and of course some delicious international treats.

Learn about internships in German companies and job experiences of your fellow students. Get to know the legal framework of working from a representative of Karlsruhe immigration office and the social security requirements from a representative of a health insurance company (Krankenkasse). Experience how KIT's career service is able to assist you in finding internships and student jobs.
