Voluntary work plays an important role in German society because it promotes social participation and solidarity. It enables you to get involved in one or more areas that you consider as important. In addition, it’s also for your personal advantage, such as providing you with the opportunity to improve your own skills or to take on responsibility. In terms of your career, proof of voluntary work is always an advantage when applying for a job.
Volunteering also helps when arriving in a new city or country, as you quickly meet like-minded people with whom you can share issues.
