80th Anniversary of the Liberation of Strasbourg
On November 23, 2024, a solemn commemoration ceremony took place in Strasbourg to mark the 80th anniversary of the city's liberation by Allied troops. This event concluded a remembrance journey that began in April on the Plateau des Glières and passed through various historical sites.
The ceremony at the Palais universitaire of the University of Strasbourg, attended by over 400 guests, was dedicated to Franco-German friendship. French President Emmanuel Macron, along with dignitaries and spectators, honored the historic event. Students and rectors from the Eucor universities were also present.
In addition to musical performances and project presentations, the event provided an opportunity for intercultural exchange.
In the afternoon, participants visited the Tomi Ungerer Museum or the Alsatian Museum before the student groups from Karlsruhe and Freiburg set off on their return journey.
