You are studying at one of the Eucor partner universities and would like to attend courses at KIT?

On this page you will find information for students of the Eucor partner universities Basel, Freiburg, Haute-Alsace and Strasbourg about the mobility procedure at KIT. This applies to both semester mobility and selective mobility.

Eucor students at KIT

Applications for students from Eucor partner universities (Basel, Freiburg, Haute-Alsace, and Strasbourg) at KIT are processed via the Mobility Online portal.

Application deadlines:
Please apply by September 30 for the winter semester and by March 31 for the summer semester at the latest.

Would you like to take a block seminar, an interdisciplinary course, an internship, a thesis project, or similar at KIT? Please check whether a later enrollment is possible if your course does not start at the beginning of the semester.

All documents required for application and enrollment are available for download or can be uploaded directly in the portal:

  • Application form
  • Current certificate of enrollment from your home university (This section must include the field of study and the level of study (e.g., Bachelor's, Master's)
  • Enrollment form (KIT)
  • Proof of health insurance (Please contact your statutory health insurance provider so they can send the M10 form digitally to KIT. The KIT number is: H0000063. If you are insured with a European (EHIC) or private provider, you must contact a German statutory health insurance provider so they can also send us the M10 form.)
  • Eucor Learning Agreement

Re-registration as a Eucor student is possible. For this, you must submit a current certificate of enrollment from your home university and a current Eucor Learning Agreement.

  • Re-registration periods: 
    For the winter semester: July 1 – August 15
    For the summer semester: January 15 – February 15
  • The documents can be uploaded to the Mobility Online portal.
  • As soon as the complete application has been received, you will be enrolled and will promptly receive your matriculation number as well as all further information (such as access data for the student portal so that your student ID card can be created).

The Learning Agreement is an agreement between the student, KIT, and the host university. It outlines the program for the study abroad period (selected courses at the host institution) and regulates the recognition of ECTS credits.

  1. Inform yourself about the KIT course catalog and select the courses you would like to take und suche dir Kurse aus, die du belegen möchtest.
  2. Important: Online course registration is only possible once you are enrolled at KIT and have received your access data.
  3. Download a current version of the Eucor-Learning Agreement and note the explanations on page 2 for your home university.
  4. Completing the Eucor-Learning Agreement:
    • First, contact the person responsible for your faculty (study program coordinator or subject coordinator) at your home university.
    • The Eucor-Learning Agreement you have filled out can be uploaded directly to the​​​​​​​ Portal Mobility Online for KIT and will be processed in the portal by the relevant subject coordinators of the KIT faculties.
      Please note: Processing the Learning Agreement at KIT can take some time, sometimes up to 3 weeks.
  5. Questions:
    • Course-specific questions? Please contact the​​​​​​​ subject coordinators of the KIT faculties directly.
    • Questions about filling out the Eucor-Learning Agreement or about the contact persons at the KIT faculties? Then please contact info.eucor∂intl.kit.edu.
  • At the end of your study stay at KIT, you will receive a Transcript of Records (ToR). This document typically lists the courses taken at KIT along with ECTS credits and grades. Students from all KIT faculties can obtain and download their ToR online through the campus management portal.

Important Information

Housing

Dormitory Places (Only for stays of at least one semester at KIT):

For Eucor students, the Karlsruhe Student Services offers rooms in its dormitories.

  • The offer includes: a room in a dormitory of the Student Services, free information and counseling, participation in international events and excursions of the International Student Center (STW Karlsruhe).
  • The application for the dormitories in Karlsruhe should be submitted to the Student Services at least two months before the desired move-in date. Please note that the Student Services cannot guarantee a room.
  • For more information about the dormitories and the online application, please select "EUCOR" under University.

Semester Ticket

  • The KIT-Card (your student ID) can also be used as a ticket for public transportation.
  • From Monday to Friday (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM), and all day on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, the KIT-Card can be used as a free ticket in combination with the KVV certificate for students.

If you want to use public transportation around Karlsruhe (the KVV network) outside of these times, it currently costs approximately €199.50 (as of 2024, further information).

This is an opportunity for new students to get to know Karlsruhe, KIT, and other students. There are various events at the beginning of the semester, such as:
