De-registration at KIT ("Exmatrikulation")
Before you leave KIT, you should de-register. As you will need a de-registration certificate (“Exmatrikulationsbescheinigung”) when you want to study in a German university again.
Please go to the webpage of the Studierendenservice (SLE) and download these following documents:
- Application for de-registration (English)
- Letter of authorization for completing de-registration for a third-party (German)
Application for de-registration (English):
- The reason for de-registration is: 09 Other reason (Erasmus mobility)
- Please sign and put the date on page one and two (Declaration).
- The following signatures are also needed on the second page of the document: International Students Office (IStO), the KIT-library and the Studierendenservice (SLE).
If you need our assistance to finish your de-registration process at KIT, please also complete and sign the letter of authorization (Vollmacht für die Durchführung der Exmatrikulation). Then we will be able to forward your document to the KIT-library and to the SLE. Please send both documents to us by e-mail.
Your KIT e-mail account (starting with u****) will be deactivated six months after your de-registration at KIT. Thus, in the next six months you still have the access to the Study Portal at KIT to download:
- the de-registation certificate (“Exmatrikulationsbescheinigung”)
- your Transcript of Records (ToR)
