The Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS) is offering fellowships for the 2026/27 academic year. Researchers from all disciplines who hold a doctoral degree can apply for Early Career Fellowships (4–10 months), Senior Fellowships (3–8 months), and a Sustainable Governance Fellowship (6 months) for researchers from African institutions. The application deadline is September 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. (CEST).

The University of Basel is offering the free online course “How to Survive Your First International Conference” on November 17 and 19, 2025, for doctoral students and postdocs from all Eucor and EPICUR universities. The course provides practical strategies for successfully participating in international conferences, including presentation techniques and networking tips. Registration is open until October 17.

The workshop “Intercultural Communication Situations in Everyday University Life” will take place on June 12 and 19, 2025, in Basel. It is aimed at administrative, technical, and laboratory staff at the University of Basel. The goal is to identify, analyze, and develop solution strategies for intercultural communication challenges in the university context.

The Eucor team at KIT invites students and staff from the Eucor universities to the Eucor Dinner at the Kulturküche Karlsruhe. On June 6, 2025, from 2:30 PM to approximately 8:30 PM, there will first be an exchange about Eucor programs, followed by intercultural workshops (German/French), offering the opportunity to make new connections. The event includes exploring the city and concludes with a shared dinner in the evening.

The Eucor Olympiad 2025 will take place on Friday, May 30th, from 10:00 a.m. to approximately 6:00 p.m. at the Institute of Sport and Sports Science at the University of Freiburg. Students from all five Eucor universities can look forward to a day of team building, sports challenges, and international exchange. Participation is free of charge, but spots are limited to 60; the registration deadline is May 25, 2025.

The Eucor workshop “Working Successfully in Intercultural Dialogue” will take place on May 13, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m. for staff members of the member universities of Basel, Freiburg, Haute-Alsace, Strasbourg, and KIT. The focus will be on intercultural collaboration within the German-French-Swiss context, including exercises and experience sharing on conflict prevention in the workplace. The bilingual event requires language skills at a B1 level, and registration is open until April 28, 2025.

The Eucor Student Council invites you to a scavenger hunt in Strasbourg on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Participants will explore the city interactively, solve puzzles together, and visit the European Parliament as the event’s highlight. The event is aimed at up to 25 students from the Eucor universities, is free of charge, and promotes exchange, teamwork, and understanding of the EU.

The Studierendenwerk Karlsruhe is hosting a short film competition with an accompanying workshop as part of its 200th-anniversary celebrations on April 8, 2025. Students can capture their experiences related to university life in a mobile phone film and will first receive an introduction to storytelling, camera work, and editing. Participation is free, limited to 15 people, and requires registration by March 28, 2025.

The Science Slam workshop with Dr. Christian Scharun on April 7 and 11, 2025, is aimed at doctoral candidates and postdocs who wish to improve their ability to communicate scientific content in a clear and concise manner. Participants will learn how to present their research in an engaging way for a broad audience, analyze best-practice examples, and develop their own style through practical exercises. The workshop includes theoretical insights, interactive elements, and individual feedback to optimize their presentation skills.

The International Space University’s Startup Incubator is hosting the ISU Bootcamp: Fostering Innovation & Leadership from February 19–21, 2025, in Strasbourg, France. Open to master's students, PhD candidates, and young professionals in STEM, the free event offers workshops on leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Sessions will be held in English and French, with live translation available.

The RDM workshop on January 28 and 29, 2025, at KIT is aimed at researchers, doctoral students, IT staff, and project managers. Topics include RDM with Kadi4Mat, the Chemotion ELN, and the use of the Karlsruhe Nano Micro Facility (KNMFi) for micro- and nanotechnologies. Focus areas: efficient data management, FAIR data publication, and access to key technologies such as TEM and 3D printing.
