Eucor language course in Karlsruhe and Strasbourg

How better to learn a local language than through immersion in the country and culture? Thanks to a Eucor cooperation between the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the University of Strasbourg, around 30 students from both universities were able to participate in an intensive language course at their partner university across the Rhine.

From May 22 to 26, French students from the University of Strasbourg attended an intensive German course at KIT, while German students from KIT spent a week at the University of Strasbourg to improve their French.

The schedule at both locations included language classes in the morning and sightseeing and cultural activities in the afternoon. The language courses covered grammar as well as knowledge about the respective city history, national education systems, and interculturality.

After classes, the French students visited the KIT campus, the city of Karlsruhe and Durlach, the Center for Art and Media (ZKM), and the Badisches Landesmuseum. The German participants took several tours of Strasbourg, visited the European Quarter, and the Bibliothèque humaniste in Sélestat.
