EPICUR
The European University Alliance EPICUR (European Partnership for an Innovative Campus Unifying Regions) aims to create an attractive, innovative European university for a new generation of students in Europe. EPICUR comprises the three projects EPICUR SHAPE-IT , EPICUR Research and EPIDI (European Partnership for Innovation in Distant Internships). There is a special focus on interaction with society.
The nine university partners in the EPICUR Alliance are Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan (Poland), University of Amsterdam (Netherlands), Aristotle University in Thessaloniki (Greece), Albert Ludwigs University Freiburg (Germany), University of Upper Alsace (France), Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, KIT (Germany), University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna (Austria), South Danish University in Odense (Denmark) and University of Strasbourg (France). Are you planning a citizen science project or need tips for your grant application? At the consultation event “EPICUR Citizen Science Offerings – Citizen Science in Practice: Tailored 1:1 Expert Consultations & Best Practice Examples” on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at TRIANGEL, Karlsruhe, you will receive targeted feedback from citizen science experts Josep Perelló (University of Barcelona), Anne Kathrine Overgaard, and Thomas Kaarsted (University of Southern Denmark).
Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to explore regional citizen science projects at MobiLab in front of the Natural History Museum – in the heart of downtown Karlsruhe.
Participation is free of charge and access is barrier-free.
The consultation can be booked independently of the morning workshop.

How can citizen science be integrated into research projects and successfully used for EU funding? The interactive workshop “EPICUR Citizen Science Offerings: From Idea to Impact” will offer practical insights, methods, and best practices on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at TRIANGEL in Karlsruhe.
Experts such as Josep Perelló (University of Barcelona), Anne Kathrine Overgaard, and Thomas Kaarsted (University of Southern Denmark) will show ways in which citizen science builds bridges between science and society. The event is aimed at researchers, employees, and interested parties from civil society, politics, and administration.

Teachers can now submit offers for the EPICUR course catalog. We are looking for courses in English for Bachelor's, Master's and doctoral students in the fields of European Values, Sustainable Transformation, Future Intelligence, Global Health and Transversal Skills. The deadline for submissions is October 16, 2025.

With its program „Europäische Hochschulnetzwerke (EUN) - nationale Initiative“ the German Academic Foreign Service (DAAD) supports the EU initiativ of „European Universities“. Since the beginning of the year, KIT and 21 other German Universities are supported in the third round of funding. They get around 14 Million Euros until 2026 out of the budget of the Ministery for Education and Research in addition to the EU funds.
