08.May
17:00
KIT Senatssaal, Engelbert-Arnold Str. 2, 76131 Karlsruhe (Gebäude 11.30), Campus Süd.
Topics such as anti-discrimination and diversity play a central role, especially at an international university like KIT. But how can anti-discrimination be promoted in concrete terms? What challenges do minorities face at a university and what solutions does Academia itself offer? How can open-mindedness be practiced at KIT and equal opportunities promoted, and where do we encounter everyday racism on campus?

The author and speaker Anna Mendel will talk about this in her lecture ‘Diversity on campus? - Discrimination at universities’. Afterwards, we would like to discuss the topic.

The event is organized by the AG Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination.

DAAD Prize
The German Academic Exchange Service Prize for Foreign Students (DAAD Prize) will also be awarded during the event. The prize is endowed with 1,000 euros and is awarded to students who have made special academic achievements and have also shown outstanding commitment in an international context at KIT.

Getting involved internationally, but how? Getting to know other cultures, but where? Answers to these questions can be found at the International Fair!

As part of the International Days 2025, the Studierendenwerk is organising a fair together with INTL, where university groups, student initiatives and institutions with an international focus will present themselves. It's also a chance for all international students to show off a bit of their culture.
There'll be info stands, short talks, stage performances, presentations and other creative and tasty (!) samples.

If you want to find out more about the colourful, international and diverse life on campus and maybe even think outside the box yourself, then come along to the International Fair on Europe Day!

And for even more wanderlust, there will be a small photo exhibition of the “My stay abroad” competition and the award ceremony for the winners.
