Are you interested in studying at a German higher education institution? In our advising sessions, we answer all your questions regarding admission. Please have all required documents ready (proof of language proficiency, secondary school certificate/university degree certificate, residence permit in Germany).

This combi session is a good chance to get questions answered, get an overview about finding jobs in Germany and then connecting with other students at the Mentoring Get-Together!
 
Part 1 of the evening is the ISRT: "In the thick of it: what next in my first semester."
This short session will be a hybrid (on camps and online) event.
 
For all International students (both degree seeking and exchange) enrolled in Bachelor or master program in the KIT Department of Informatics.  Of course all students from our department are welcome to participate.
 
Now that you have arrived and begun immersed yourself in your studies, you may want to consult with us on things that have come up, about navigating your new life or delve deeper into what the KIT community has to offer and how to find a job.
 
KIT's Department of Informatics will jointly facilitate this session with International Students Office, Welcome & Integration Team and KIT Career Services.

Optional topics include:
clarify any remaining queries you might have provide information about seeking jobs and what resources are available via KIT's Career Services address KIT organizational and academic aspects help start building your social network, connections and involvement work with exchange students Learning agreements updates during the mobilty  
This will be held in english, but you can ask questions in english or german. This part is particularly relevant for international students enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program at the Faculty of Informatics at KIT.

Part 2: Mentoring Get-Together.
We will then transition into part 2 which is the social part of the evening. 
The Mentoring Get-Together will take place in person and is open to all students enrolled in Bachelor or master program in the KIT Department of Informatics.  
 
Mentoring Get together is where you can:
relax Chat and  Play various board /card games meet other students find study partners for modules you are taking and/or with whom you take time to do project, hobbies or other do free-time activities  
You can chat with others in german or english
Feel free to bring your ouwn games.

Intercultural competences means more than just being polite. In an increasingly diverse world, understanding cultural differences — and navigating them with awareness and respect - is key. This interactive workshop offers tools to reflect on your own cultural lens, recognize potential misunderstandings, and build confidence in communicating across cultures.

The small fair gives you the opportunity to gain an overview of all the options for studying abroad in just one afternoon. Both faculty-specific programs and general exchange and internship opportunities will be presented.
You can talk directly with program coordinators and exchange ideas with former outgoing students and current visiting students.

The excursion will take place on November 27, 2026, and is organized by the Studierendenwerk Karlsruhe. The program includes exploring the Alsatian capital, Strasbourg, with its unique blend of French and German culture. Afterwards, participants will visit the Strasbourg Christmas market. This varied day trip offers a great combination of history, culture, and festive Christmas flair.

To mark the 10th anniversary of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) Eucor – The European Campus, a very special anniversary concert will take place on Saturday, November 28, 2026, at the Audimax of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
The spirit that unites the Eucor universities will come alive through music: Musicians from Germany, France, and Switzerland will come together to share their passion for music and celebrate the European spirit on one stage.
 
Look forward to a diverse concert featuring renowned musical ensembles from the Eucor universities:
Bigband am KIT Bigband Freiburg Orchestre Universitaire de Strasbourg Unichor Freiburg e. V. The Oranges (Université de Haute-Alsace)  
From swing and jazz to orchestral music and choral singing, the program promises a diverse musical experience reflecting the cultural and musical richness of the European Campus.
The evening will open with a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Thomas Hirth, Vice President for Transfer and International Affairs at KIT and Vice President of Eucor – The European Campus.
An evening that is about more than just music: Experience the unique atmosphere of a European university community, discover new musical perspectives, and be inspired by the enthusiasm of the musicians. All music lovers are warmly invited to join us!

The program includes a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Thomas Hirth, followed by a festive anniversary concert featuring all five ensembles. During the intermission, guests will have the opportunity to connect and purchase refreshments. The concert is expected to end around 7:00 p.m.

The Studierendenwerk Freiburg-Schwarzwald, in cooperation with the Franco-German hip-hop duo Zweierpasch, is offering a hybrid songwriting workshop. The event is aimed at students from universities and student services in Strasbourg, Mulhouse/Colmar, Basel, Karlsruhe, and Freiburg. The focus is on songwriting techniques, rapping, studio recording, and video clip production. To conclude the project, participants will perform their own song live. The project will take place from November 30 to December 20, 2026.

The Eucor Science Slam offers early-career researchers the opportunity to creatively present their research on stage through storytelling and performance workshops. The event series includes dates in Karlsruhe, Strasbourg, and Freiburg, followed by a grand finale on December 1, 2026.

The workshop will take place on December 11, 2026, in German and French at KIT. The event is aimed at students from Eucor universities. It focuses on intercultural exchange, discovering new perspectives, and meeting fellow students across cultural boundaries. The workshop will be conducted by the Centre Culturel Franco-Allemand Karlsruhe. Afterward, there will be a joint visit to the Karlsruhe Christmas market. Registration is open until November 27, 2026. The workshop is free of charge for students from Eucor universities.

Entdecken Sie Ihre Möglichkeiten und gestalten Sie Ihren Weg ins Ausland
Ein Auslandsaufenthalt kann das Studium bereichern, neue Perspektiven eröffnen und zur persönlichen Weiterentwicklung beitragen. Der Outgoing Day richtet sich sowohl an Studierende, die bereits konkrete Pläne für ein Semester oder Praktikum im Ausland haben, als auch an Studierende, die sich zunächst orientieren und herausfinden möchten, ob und welche Form eines Auslandsaufenthalts zu ihren persönlichen und studienbezogenen Zielen passt.

Das vielfältige Workshop-Angebot bietet Informationen, praktische Hinweise und persönliche Einblicke rund um die Planung und Gestaltung eines Auslandsaufenthalts. Darüber hinaus ermöglichen ausgewählte Formate, eigene Erwartungen, Wünsche und mögliche Hürden zu reflektieren und Orientierung für die persönliche Entscheidungsfindung zu gewinnen. Die Studierenden können sich ihr individuelles Workshop-Programm zusammenstellen und die Angebote auswählen, die für ihre jeweilige Situation und ihre Fragen besonders relevant sind.

Bei aktiver Teilnahme am gesamten Outgoing Day und dem Besuch von vier Workshops können Studierende 1 ECTS-Punkt im Bereich der Schlüsselqualifikationen erwerben. Der Erwerb eines ECTS-Punkts ist nicht verpflichtend. Auch Studierende, die keine Studienleistung benötigen, sind herzlich eingeladen, einzelne Workshops auszuwählen und am Outgoing Day teilzunehmen.

Ergänzt wird das Workshop-Programm durch gemeinsame Programmpunkte, die Raum für Begegnung, Austausch und Vernetzung bieten. Beim Poster Walk, in den gemeinsamen Plenumsveranstaltungen und in den Pausen haben die Studierenden Gelegenheit, mit anderen Studierenden, den beteiligten Einrichtungen und den Referierenden ins Gespräch zu kommen, Erfahrungen auszutauschen und neue Kontakte zu knüpfen.

This online ISRT: "Pre-Arrival Orientation" will provide integral information regarding our department, KIT and living in Karlsruhe. Also an opportunity to ask questions regarding your studies at KIT  and about life in Karlsruhe.
