The International Students Office (IStO) welcomes international students from 14:00 hrs onward with informative presentations in German and English. From 15:30 hrs to 16:30 hrs, the Welcome and Integration team invites attendees to a reception with drinks, where various units of KIT and the Studierendenwerk Karlsruhe will present themselves at information booths and be available for questions. This will be followed by the campus rally.

We offer various welcome and information events at the beginning of both the winter and summer semesters. Here, you will have the opportunity to make your first contacts with other students and receive important information. For international students arriving late, we offer additional workshops.

The new semester is just around the corner. Many new students are moving to Karlsruhe to start their studies. Therefore, we offer a campus rally, filled with fun activities that you can complete within your group. 
 
It's never too late to learn new things about where you study. This will give you the best opportunity to do so and expand your own circle of friends.

Are you interested in studying at a German higher education institution? In our advising sessions, we answer all your questions regarding admission. Please have all required documents ready (proof of language proficiency, secondary school certificate/university degree certificate, residence permit in Germany).

Theater Afternoon in Strasbourg on Migration and Equality
Strasbourg

On April 27, 2026, a theater afternoon will be held in Strasbourg for students from Karlsruhe, Freiburg, and Basel, dedicated to the themes of migration and diversity. The program includes a performance, a discussion with the director, and an arts-oriented campus tour. A French proficiency level of at least B1 is required. Participants benefit from travel cost reimbursement and will receive the "Carte Culture" for discounted access to cultural events.
