Calender of Events: International Affairs

This workshop consists of three parts. In preparation for this workshop, we ask you to register at the KIT Campus Management System of KIT, if possible. Please also open the course catalog for the winter semester 2026/2027 for your degree program.
 
In the first part, we’ll explain how to create a study plan and then a class schedule. To do this, we’ll first we show you the basics of KIT’s university-specific programs, which you’ll use to organize your studies. Afterward, we’ll use examples to show you exactly how to proceed. Following that, you’ll have the opportunity to try out these steps for your own degree program.
 
Part 2 covers the basics of studying at KIT. Here, we’ll explain the rules for pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree at KIT. These rules outline what you should pay special attention to during your studies.
 
In Part 3, you’ll learn about the various support services available at KIT if you have questions about your course of study or your academic life in general.
The event will be held in English.

This workshop offers international students an introduction to housing in Germany. It covers key terminology and required documents for finding accommodation, as well as tenants’ rights and responsibilities. In addition, participants will learn essential housing rules and practical everyday tips to help them start living in their first home in Germany with confidence and good preparation.

Karlsruhe - what kind of city is it? The Badisches Landesmuseum welcomes international students to the museum near the market! Here you will learn about the city of Karlsruhe and Art Nouveau with its innovative design language. In the second part of the event, we will leave the museum and use our new app "Ping! - Your date with democracy" to discover important places in the city center together.
 
Note: The tour is divided into two parts. The first part includes a museum tour in German, and the second part is a city tour in English.

The German Conversation Group is not a traditional language course, but an open, weekly opportunity for international researchers at KIT to practise German and connect with others. The focus is on regular conversation practice, building confidence and meeting other international researchers.
 
All language levels are welcome.
No registration required.

Discover the world of autonomous mobility and teach your own Duckietown robot how to drive: This exciting collaboration between the Institute for Robotics and Autonomous Systems (IRAS) at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (HKA) and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) offers hands-on insight into robotics and autonomous vehicles. 
 
The Duckietown workshop is designed for middle and high school students interested in robotics, programming, and autonomous systems. During this interactive morning session, participants will learn how autonomous vehicles perceive their surroundings and make decisions on their own. They will program real Duckietown robots and try out innovative robotics applications firsthand.
 
 
 
 

The International Buddy Program invites you to the International Café – a monthly event where you can meet new people, make international friendships, and discover different cultures in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Learn more about opportunities in Karlsruhe and throughout Germany while enjoying a pleasant evening with other students.
The House of Competence (HoC) and the Studierendenwerk Karlsruhe cooperate in this event and will be present with an information table to answer your questions and assist you.
Join our International Café on every first Wednesday of the month.
Please note that registration on ILIAS is required for this event! 

This Info² session provides students with an overview about the different opportunities to go abroad.  Representitives from various international programs will provide information, in order that you can evaluate what prospects are available, what you may be interested in, and what you need to do.
This Workshop is relevant for all degree seeking students in the KIT Department of Informatics who are pursuing a KIT degree. All students may participate in the program regardless of EU nationality.
 
This primary focus study abroad information for students who wish to apply for the academic year 2027/28  (Winter Semester 27/28 and Summer Semester 28):
 
An overview of the various programs offered, including: Doppelmaster-Program Informatik  Epicur  Eucor  *Overseas Study Abroad Programs (DAAD, Freemover, ....)   ERASMUS+ &SEMP  Application procedure and general conditions  
The session will be held in English. There will also be a Q&A round, where you ask questions in English or German.
