Chile-Germany Academic Forum 2025

Established in 2023, this academic initiative aims to strengthen existing ties and forge new collaborations between Chilean and German universities.

The primary goal of the Forum is to collaboratively address climate change threats in an unpredictable and multipolar world. Its participants will approach these challenges by leveraging interdisciplinary knowledge to develop sustainable science-based solutions. The inaugural Chile-Germany Academic Forum was held in June 12-15, 2023, in Santiago de Chile, hosted by Chilean universities, which brought together over 40 young and senior researchers from both countries.

Participants engaged in three workshops focused on:

  • Climate Change, Territoriality, and Sustainable Governance for the Green Transition
  • Circular Economy, Productive Models, and Consumer Culture for Sustainability
  • Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Renewable Energy and Productive Transformation

Following the success of the first event, the next Chile-Germany Academic Forum will be held in Berlin from June 16-18, 2025, hosted by Technische Universität Berlin, further expanding the scope of topics for future discussions and deepening collaboration.

In the 2025 version, participants will engage in five workshops focused on:

  • Energy, Raw Materials and Resources for the Green Transition
  • A World in Movement: Climate Change, Territoriality and Migration
  • Livable Cities: Resilient Architecture and Urban Development
  • Biotech and Global Health
  • The Frontiers of Sciences, Arts and Humanities

We look forward to seeing you in Berlin in 2025! News will be published on this page.
