Join an English-language walking tour (1,5 hours) through Karlsruhe and discover fascinating stories and fun anecdotes from three centuries of city history. Learn why Karlsruhe is called the “Fan City,” how its founding is linked to a margrave’s nap, and why there is a pyramid on the market square.
The tour takes you to the city’s key landmarks, including the baroque palace, the market square with its town hall and main church, the palace gardens, and the botanical garden with historic greenhouses. Along the way, you’ll hear about Margrave Karl Wilhelm, court life, and the move of the residence from Durlach to Karlsruhe.
