Special program for international academic freedom
The program is run by the Baden-Württemberg Foundation. The aim is to offer research opportunities in Baden-Württemberg to young academics whose academic freedom or research mobility is restricted due to political circumstances or their nationality.

Postdoctoral researchers whose academic freedom or research mobility is restricted due to political circumstances or their nationality. Candidates may come from abroad or from Germany (e.g. if a previously planned research stay abroad was canceled due to such restrictions). |
| ✅ Prerequisites |
1. PhD degree (postdoc level) 2. integration into existing research structures and projects at a university in Baden-Württemberg 3. nomination by a university in Baden-Württemberg 4. applicants must prove that their research opportunities or mobility are restricted due to political circumstances or similar constraints |

1. curriculum vitae of the proposed applicant 2. short letter of motivation with description of involvement in existing projects at the host university 3. justification or proof of the restrictions that affect the applicant's research opportunities 4. brief justification and recommendation from the host university |
| ⚖️ Selection procedure |
Multi-stage procedure: 1. identification and internal evaluation of suitable candidates by the host university 2. submission of up to two proposals per university 3. if the number of applications exceeds the available program budget (up to 15 scholarships), funding decisions are made in the order of submission |
