International graduates are of high importance to the German labor market, not least due to the lack of skilled workers. The event “Start Your Career in the Karlsruhe Technology Region” is organized by KIT and the Karlsruhe Technology Region to present career opportunities in the Karlsruhe area. We will provide information on career opportunities in the region and in Germany as well as on organizational matters, such as applications for visa and work permits.

On Friday, 24 November 2023 at 11:30 am (CET), Prof. Stefan Felder will give an overview of the latest measurement methods for optimizing the design and safety of hydraulic structures as well as the latest developments in instrumentation for hydraulic structures, such as phase detection with intrusion probes, remote sensing with LIDAR and camera technology and Lagrange-type sensors.

The International Excellence Fellows and Humboldt Fellows, were able to learn interesting facts about energy research, accelerator technology, or the smallest particles of the universe, including a tour of the scientific and technical facilities in the fields of materials, energy, and elementary and astroparticle physics.

Professor Dr. Thomas Hirth, Vice President for Transfer and International Affairs, welcomed new International Excellence Fellows at KIT, who were able to establish interdisciplinary contacts and exchange information about new projects and joint research plans with their host professors.

On July 11th, at 10 am (CEST), two internationally renowned scientists, Prof. John Powell and Prof. Kamran Behdinan, will present their research on laser welding and multifunctional lightweight structures. The event will take place in a hybrid format (at IPEK, KIT) and digitally via Zoom.

On Wednesday, 05 July, 2023 at 5:00 PM (CEST), the 19th International Excellence Talk will take place in person and online, providing insights into Dr. Lantada's work at UPM, Spain, on additive manufacturing with smart materials. The experiences leading to shape-morphing systems and analysis' of their connections to personalized healthcare, will be illustrated through different case studies.

On Thursday, 25 May, 2023 at 5:30 PM (CEST) the 18th International Excellence Talk will take place in-person. Dr. Zoe Li will provide an overview of past and ongoing research, such as uncertainty analysis and several applications of machine learning for climate downscaling, hydrological forecasting, river ice prediction, and wastewater modeling.

On Tuesday, 21 March, 2023 at 5:00 PM (CET) in the 17th International Excellence Talk, Prof. Danielle Skropeta will speak about her medicinal chemistry career and her current role as Professor in Chemistry and Associate Dean.

There, they learned more about KIT's research priorities, visited some scientific and technical facilities as well as established interdisciplinary contacts.
