KIT Delegation at the KATHES Workshop 2026 in Thessaloniki
Last week, Vice-President Transfer and International Affairs, Prof. Dr. Thomas Hirth, led a delegation of 20 scientists from KIT to participate in the KATHES-Workshop 2026 in Thessaloniki. This workshop in the framework of the KArlsruhe-THESsaloniki cooperation (KATHES) took place with executives, researchers and staff from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) and the Thessaloniki Innovation & Technology Center (ThessINTEC). Together, they explored how to deepen their cooperation in topics such as sustainable cities, energy transition, advanced mobility, materials and manufacturing (A3M), AI and system integration as well as in entrepreneurship and international mobility.
This workshop impressively showed the synergies in combining cooperation activities in the dimensions of research, education – primarily within the European University Alliance EPICUR – and innovation. For further information on the KATHES cooperation, please refer to KIT´s regional officer Europe, Ms Nadja Bandulet.
