International Welcome Office
The International Welcome Office is dedicated to creating a welcoming, supportive, and connected experience for international students, scholars, researchers, and their families throughout their journey at KIT.
We help internationals navigate new systems, new cultures, and new environments, while fostering a sense of belonging and connection within the KIT community.
At its heart, our office is built around four interconnected pillars:
Welcome & Arrival
We assist international researchers and students in preparing for their stay and upon their arrival at KIT. This includes providing information and support regarding key administrative procedures, such as visas and residence permits, registration with the authorities, social integration, and — for researchers — the preparation of hosting agreements.
Advising & Integration
We accompany international community members throughout their time at KIT by offering advice, orientation, and opportunities for connection. Through our programs and services, we help people build networks, engage across cultures, and feel at home in their new environment.
Funding & Mobility Opportunities
We advise international scholars, researchers and doctoral candidates on international funding opportunities, fellowships, scholarships, grants, and mobility programs. By connecting people with opportunities that support research, study and global exchange, we help enable academic growth and international collaboration.
We provide international students with information about ways to finance their studies, scholarships, and job opportunities. We award graduation grants to international students who, through no fault of their own, find themselves in financial distress.
Internationalization & Impact
We contribute to KIT's internationalization by creating a seamless welcome experience and supporting a vibrant international community. Through our work, we help attract and support global talent, while strengthening intercultural exchange and collaboration across campus.
