Helmholtz - OCPC - Program (China Cooperation)

The program is jointly implemented with the Office of China Postdoctoral Council (OCPC). Its aim is to integrate Chinese postdoctoral researchers into projects at KIT in order to establish or strengthen sustainable cooperation with partners in China.

 

🎓 Target group

Postdoctoral researchers from Chinese institutions with OCPC-registered postdoctoral stations (or Chinese researchers currently abroad who register with such staion)

✅ Prerequisites

1. PhD degree obtained within the last 5 years

2. Age Limit: Max. 35 years at the time of application

3. Compliance with foreign trade regulations and export regulations (no military research, review of "Seven Sons" / US Entity List check)

Internal deadline: February 21, 2026

3. part B: Candidate's documents (CV, list of publications, 2 letters of recommendation, proof of English)

⚖️ Selection procedure

Multi-stage process:

1. Submission of the project proposal by the KIT institute to BUisness Unit International Affairs

2. Publication by OCPC in China

3. Application by candidates & pre-selection by OCPC

4. Review and/or interview by the KIT institute

5. Final approval by OCPC

Funding amount & duration

Duration: 24 months

OCPC share: 300,000 RMB lump sum (approx. 1,647 € / month) for living expenses and travel

KIT contribution: € 1,500 per month (co-financing from the institute's budget)
