Baden-Württemberg/Connecticut State Program: Call for Applications for the “Faculty Mobility Program”
As part of the successful partnership between Baden-Württemberg and the U.S. state of Connecticut, the focus is set to shift even more toward collaboration among researchers. For the calendar year 2025, the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research, and the Arts is therefore offering a fellowship for short-term visits to universities in Connecticut, with the aim of initiating new collaborations and strengthening existing ones. Researchers at the nine research universities and the six colleges of education in Baden-Württemberg who are interested in closer collaboration with partners in Connecticut and wish to actively participate in the state program are eligible to apply for this funding. To enhance the visibility of the state program, it is particularly desirable that the visit program include students and/or doctoral candidates in addition to individual meetings (e.g., lectures, workshops, etc.).

Duration and Amount of Funding
The fellowship is available for short-term stays of 3 to 10 days at one of the universities in Connecticut participating in the state program and consists of
- a travel grant of 1,200 euros and
- a stipend to cover living expenses in the amount of 150 euros per day; (the arrival and departure days each count as half a day)
Application
The complete application must include:
- the application form with a brief summary of the project (max. 200 words),
- a resume with a list of publications (in English),
- a detailed project description, including a justification for the selection of the host/host institution and the significance of the trip for future collaboration (max. 3 pages, in English),
- an invitation from the host.

Heidelberg University coordinates the state’s cooperation with Connecticut. Application deadline: October 31, 2026
. A selection committee, whose composition is determined by the Ministry of Science, decides on the award of the scholarship.
