Visit of the Consul General of the Republic of Bulgaria to KIT
On 19 March, the Consul General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Munich, Stefan Ionkov, together with his colleagues Aneta Grouytcheva (Consul for Economic Affairs) and Milena Ouzounova (Consul for Political Affairs, Education and Culture), visited KIT. The aim of the visit was to present the activities of the Consulate General in education and culture, as well as to discuss opportunities for expanding cooperation and partnerships between KIT and Bulgarian universities.
At the beginning of the meeting, KIT President Prof. Jan S. Hesthaven welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of KIT’s key research areas. Subsequently, Prof. Mathias Kluwe presented existing activities between KIT and the Technical University of Sofia. In particular, the double bachelor’s program “Mechatronics and Information Technology” and the FDIBA program (Faculty of German Engineering Education and Industrial Management at TU Sofia) were highlighted.
The participants then exchanged views on possible fields of cooperation in research and on joint academic activities. The visit provided space for open dialogue and the further strengthening of the existing partnerships. Opportunities for expanding cooperation, particularly in the fields of mathematics, computer science, and artificial intelligence, were also discussed.
