Visit by Shatrughna Sinha, Consul General of India, at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
The Consul General of India, Shatrughna Sinha, visited the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) to learn about KIT’s key research areas and strategic developments, as well as to explore opportunities for collaboration with Indian universities and research institutions.
The visit began with a meeting with KIT President Jan S. Hesthaven and Vice President Transfer Thomas Hirth. During the meeting, KIT presented its research priorities and its “Science for Impact” strategic approach, which aims to translate scientific findings into concrete social and economic applications.
The Consul General provided an overview of the Indian higher education and research system and promoted cooperation with German partners, particularly with KIT.
Following this, Consul General Sinha signed the KIT guestbook. A group photo concluded the official part of the visit.
Another item on the agenda was a visit to the wbk Institute of Production Science. There, the delegation gained insight into the institute’s research activities as well as existing collaborations with partners in India. A tour of the laboratories provided a glimpse into current research projects. Finally, approaches for potential joint activities were discussed.
