Delegation visit of Pusan National University to KIT

On January 29, 2026, a delegation from Pusan National University led by Vice President Prof. Dr. Chang-Hwan Lee visited the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The aim of the visit was to initiate possible future cooperation in research and internationalization. 

The visit began with an official reception in the KIT presidential building and a meeting with Prof. Dr. Thomas Hirth, Vice President Transfer and International Affairs. After mutual introductions of the universities, possible forms of future cooperation were discussed.

The delegation then visited the North Campus and the Institute for Meteorology and Climate Research – Atmospheric Aerosol Research located there. There, the guests provided insights into the research work in the fields of climate and environmental research at Pusan National University. The exchange on potential collaborations was followed by a final tour of the laboratories.

In the afternoon, a meeting was held on the South Campus with Prof. Dr. Manfred Wilhelm, including a visit to the Institute of Technical Chemistry and Polymer Chemistry (ITCP). Before the visit officially ended, possible joint research projects were also discussed here.

Pusan National University has interesting infrastructures and projects, particularly in hydrogen research and materials science, and the visit laid the foundation for possible joint projects.
