Visit of H.E. Mrs. Maitha Saif Majid Al Mahrouqui, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Germany, at KIT

On 27.10.2025, H.E. Mrs. Maitha Saif Majid Al Mahrouqui, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Germany, visited the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

During her meeting with the Vice President Transfer and International Affairs, Prof. Dr. Thomas Hirth discussions focused on potential future cooperation in the fields of hydrogen and energy research. Both sides explored opportunities for joint research projects and ways to provide high-quality education and training for young people from Oman in energy-related disciplines.

The delegation then visited the Institute of Applied Geosciences (AGW), where current research on hydrogen storage was presented. Further insights were provided into the work of the KIT Energy Center, followed by a laboratory tour. The visit concluded with a guest book entry by the Ambassador and a group photo.

The exchange provided a strong basis for potential future collaboration between KIT and research institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.
