The International Student Office is the contact point at KIT for all international students and prospective students from abroad as well as for KIT students interested in going abroad.

Services for current and prospective international students as well as exchange students:

  • Advice and support for current and prospective international students from first contact to successful graduation
  • Support for international exchange students (ERASMUS, DAAD, Baden-Württemberg-prgram) with their first steps in Karlsruhe
  • Introduction
  • Integration activities
  • Individual assistance for graduates from German schools abroad
  • Individual assistance concerning financial and personal problems etc.

  • Counselling and preparation for KIT students concerning stays abroad
    • Financing
    • Scholarship programs
    • Assistance with applications

Services for Departments and Executive Board:

 

  • Institutional coordinator for ERASMUS+
  • Verification of international applications for all Departments
  • Equivalence verification of foreign educational certificates (PhD, Masters, staff)
  • Admission of international students as well as all participants in special and exchange programs (e.g. DAAD, KIT-DeFI)
  • Advice regarding partnerships and cooperation agreements in the area of studies
  • Monitoring and renewal of cooperation agreements 
  • Involvement in selection committees for scholarships, e.g. DAAD, Fulbright Commission
  • Organization of information days for high-school students
  • Offering of internships and grants
  • Administration of scholarships by the Baden-Wuerttemberg Foundation (co-operations with higher education institutions abroad), and under the Life Long Learning/ ERASMUS-Program for student and lecturer mobility
  • CLUSTER contact point for study related matters
