Visit of the Rector of TU Sofia to KIT

The delegation from the Technical University of Sofia (TU Sofia), represented by the Rector Professor Dr. Ivan Kralov, the Vice-Rector Professor Dr. Lidia Galabova, the Chairman of the General Assembly Professor Dr. Georgi Todorov and the Dean of the Faculty of German Engineering and Business Administration Education (FDIBA) Professor Dr. Marin Marinov visited KIT on February 1, 2024. For almost 20 years, the Faculty of German Engineering and Business Administration (FDIBA) at TU Sofia has been offering a degree program in the fields of machine engineering and mechatronics based on the KIT model.

In the morning, the guests met with the Vice President for Transfer and International Affairs, Professor Dr. Thomas Hirth, and the professors from KIT who are involved in the FDIBA cooperation. The participants exchanged views on current developments at the both universities and discussed the possibilities of closer cooperation, e.g. in the areas of entrepreneurship and technology management. During the afternoon, the guests were shown vivid examples of the practice-oriented research. They visited the research facilities at KIT Campus East, specifically the Karlsruhe Research Factory for AI-integrated Production, the test benches in the field of mobility and vehicle safety and the Test Area Autonomous Driving Baden-Württemberg.
