Delegation visit of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Singapore

Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Thomas Hirth - Vice President for Transfer and International Affairs, a delegation of researchers and employees the Department of International Affairs (INTL) visited various research and educational institutions in Singapore at the beginning of July. The main topics of the visit were energy and materials research as well as sustainability in various areas.
 
The program items included a visits to the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a visit to the "Centre For Advanced 2D Materials", the "Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering" and the "Department of Material Science and engineering".

At a joint symposium themed “Towards a Sustainable World” with A*STAR (Agency for Science, Technology and Research) and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), researchers exchanged views on the latest developments in energy-efficient processes and devices, sustainable new materials and biomanufacturing. Furthermore, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed to promote joint research activities and the exchange of talent.
 
Further visits were made to the TUM Create research foundation, the St. Gallen Institute of Management and the German Embassy.
