A delegation from Arts et Métiers ParisTech visited KIT on November 7th, 2023 for the Steering Committee meeting of the French German Institute for Industry of the Future, a strategic partnership in education, research & innovation between both institutions. Many projects are on the agenda for the upcoming year.

Strengthening the cooperation between universities and cities of the Upper Rhine was the focus of the second "Eucor Cities Meeting" on October 12, 2023 in Karlsruhe. The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the city of Karlsruhe had invited top representatives of the trinational Eucor network and its host cities to the meeting. The common goal is to further strengthen the region, especially as a location for innovation.

On Tuesday, 5 December 2023 at 6:30 pm, the latest event of the KIT Freundeskreis und Fördergesellschaft e.V. will take place. Volocopter, the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology ICT and Akaflieg Karlsruhe will give keynote speeches on the role of fibre-reinforced plastics in the future of the aviation industry. Discuss with all participants in a relaxed atmosphere over free drinks and snacks and ask your questions!

On November 29, 2023 at 17:00 PM (CET) by Prof. Dr. Cziczo’s Talk is about aircraft measurements and studies that contribute to a better understanding of atmospheric chemistry, precipitation and climate, focusing on developments in atmospheric research, such as modern instrumentation determining the particle composition in the upper troposphere/lower stratosphere.

On Tuesday November the 7th 2023, The Kamaro University club invites you to an impulse lecture to discuss potential AI applications to solve many of the challenges that agriculture faces like labor shortage and enviroment protection. Get to discuss and ask questions in a relaxed atmosphere with free drinks and snacks. We are looking forward to you!

“Tribology Today”, The French-German-Tunisian Winter School 2023 will take place in Monastir between October 16th and 20th. Online registrations are now open.

At the end of June, a Hungarian delegation led by János Csák, Minister of Culture and Innovation, visited KIT. Together with the Chairman of the KIT Supervisory Board, Prof. Michael Kaschke, the KIT Presidium and researchers, the guests exchanged views on energy and climate research, engineering studies and the importance of science transfer for research and society.

KIT participated in Viva Technology 2023, the most important event for startups and innovation actors in France. The seventh edition took place in Paris from June 14 to 17, 2023.

We cordially invite you to the first International Grants Talk as part of the International Exchange Program of the ICM. On July 11th, at 10 am (CEST), two internationally renowned scientists, Prof. John Powell and Prof. Kamran Behdinan, will present their research on laser welding and multifunctional lightweight structures. The event will take place in a hybrid format (at IPEK, KIT) and digitally via Zoom.

Wednesday, July 05, 2023 at 5:00 PM (CET), Prof. Dr. Díaz Lantada is an International Excellence Fellow at the Institute of Microstructure Technology (IMT-KIT), will explain important advances of the recent highly competitive iMPLANTS-CM “Synergy Project” and show results from 4 European projects from Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programmes.

The summer school “Water and Energy Security Under Climate Change” is aimed at senior undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, practitioners and interested stakeholders and will run virtually 9:00am-10:00am (EST) Monday to Friday from June 5th-23rd.

Where is the best place to learn French? - In France, of course!
Take part in a 5-day language course in Strasbourg from 22 - 26 May. The language course takes place in the mornings, and in the afternoons you can explore the city and culture with various activities. Registration is until 28 April.

On May 16, 2023, the EPItasting will take place at the Student Center Z10 starting at 6 pm. At this event you can get to know in a culinary way the university alliance EPICUR, the international partner universities of KIT in the alliance and the opportunities that are open to you through the European University EPICUR.

KIT provides information on projects and initiatives to students, prospective students, people interested in training, and scientists with a migration background. Currently, consultation hours are also offered in different languages.

The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bhutan, Dr. Lotay Tshering visited the KIT on Friday, March 10, 2023 to learn about its current energy and climate research. Discussions on bilateral cooperation were also on the agenda.

The symposium will take place from 14 April 2023 until 15 April 2023 in KU Leuven, Belgium. The aim of the symposium is to create an inventory of the entrepreneurial knowledge concerning the engineering education within CLUSTER by sharing best practices and to stimulate the entrepreneurial mindset of the participants. Registration is open for students, professors and academic staff until 10 April 2023.  

KIT will contribute to the IWgR for the first time on 24 March 2023, from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m., at TRIANGEL Open Space (Kaiserstraße 93 in form of a panel discussion with internal and external representatives and discuss how the self perception and external perception of KIT differs and which discrimination people at KIT experience. Entry is free, come by and join the discussion!
