 French-German Institute for Industry of the Future

A delegation from Arts et Métiers ParisTech visited KIT on November 7th, 2023 for the Steering Committee meeting of the French German Institute for Industry of the Future, a strategic partnership in education, research & innovation between both institutions. Many projects are on the agenda for the upcoming year.

 Annual meeting of the IRL "Dark Matter Lab"

Around 50 participants from the CNRS and the Helmholtz centers DESY, GSI and KIT discussed the progress of the projects within the „Dark Matter Lab“ at the annual meeting of the International Research Laboratory. New aspects of theoretical astroparticle physics and technology studies on the planned Einstein telescope were also discussed.

 Upper Rhine universities and cities will intensify cooperation in the future

Strengthening the cooperation between universities and cities of the Upper Rhine was the focus of the second "Eucor Cities Meeting" on October 12, 2023 in Karlsruhe. The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the city of Karlsruhe had invited top representatives of the trinational Eucor network and its host cities to the meeting. The common goal is to further strengthen the region, especially as a location for innovation.

 Visit the event "Lightweight Construction - from Lab to Air"

On Tuesday, 5 December 2023 at 6:30 pm, the latest event of the KIT Freundeskreis und Fördergesellschaft e.V. will take place. Volocopter, the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology ICT and Akaflieg Karlsruhe will give keynote speeches on the role of fibre-reinforced plastics in the future of the aviation industry.  22nd International Excellence Talk – Understanding of Atmospheric Chemistry

On November 29, 2023 at 17:00 PM (CET) by Prof. Dr. Cziczo’s Talk is about aircraft measurements and studies that contribute to a better understanding of atmospheric chemistry, precipitation and climate, focusing on developments in atmospheric research, such as modern instrumentation determining the particle composition in the upper troposphere/lower stratosphere.

 21st International Excellence Talk – Design, Safety and Hydraulic Structures

On November 24, 2023 at 11:30 AM (CET) Prof. Stefan Felder will present his research on hydraulic engineering and latest developments in instrumentation for hydraulic structures, such as phase-detection intrusion probes, remote sensing with LIDAR and camera technology as well as lagrangian-type sensors for fish safety assessment.

 German–French laboratory for dark matter research founded

In order to explore its nature, the French research organization CNRS together with Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT), Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) and Helmholtz-Zentrum für Schwerionenforschung (GSI) have joined their forces to create the Dark Matter Lab (DMLab).

At the end of June, a Hungarian delegation led by János Csák, Minister of Culture and Innovation, visited KIT.  Inauguration of Academic Forum Chile – Germany in Santiago de Chile

The first Academic Forum Chile – Germany was held in Santiago de Chile from June 12 to 14, 2023. The event marked the beginning of a biennial event series focusing on sustainability topics such as renewable energies, climate change, green transition, and circular economies. Five researchers from KIT actively participated in the event, contributing their expertise to panel discussions, workshops, and presentations.

RCAANetwork of Argentinean Scientists in Germany (RCAA)

The RCAA is composed of Argentine scientists, researchers and academics living temporarily or permanently in Germany. 

The RCAA currently has more than 150 members and aims to expand institutional cooperation between Argentine and German universities and research centers. It also serves to advise and network Argentine scholars at German universities.

Argentine students and scientists are always welcome to join the network.

CSOSymposium – Entrepreneurship within the Engineering Education

The symposium will take place from 14 April 2023 until 15 April 2023 in KU Leuven, Belgium. The aim of the symposium is to create an inventory of the entrepreneurial knowledge concerning the engineering education within CLUSTER by sharing best practices and to stimulate the entrepreneurial mindset of the participants. Registration is open for students, professors and academic staff until 10 April 2023.
