Summer Schools im Ausland

KIT-Partnerhochschulen im Ausland bieten häufig in der vorlesungsfreien Zeit im Sommer sogenannte Summer Schools an. Diese ein- oder mehrwöchigen Veranstaltungen bieten Studierenden eine gute Möglichkeit kurzfristig Auslandserfahrungen zu sammeln und ihren Horizont auch außerhalb des Studienschwerpunktes zu erweitern. Häufig werden die Seminare und Vorlesungen durch ein buntes Rahmenprogramm mit Kurztrips, kulturellen und sozialen Veranstaltungen ergänzt.

In bestimmten Fällen ist es sogar möglich, ECTS-Punkte zu erwerben und diese auf das Studium am KIT anrechnen zu lassen.

Teilnehmende KIT-Studierende werden oft bevorzugt behandelt: Sie können sich z.B. für besondere Stipendien bewerben oder reservierte Plätze in Anspruch nehmen.

Finanzierungsmöglichkeiten

Für Summer Schools gibt es kaum Finanzierungsmöglichkeiten. In den meisten Fällen müssen sie selbst finanziert werden.

  • Der DAAD vergibt Stipendien für die Teilnahme an Sommerschulen in den folgenden Ländern: Albanien, Aserbaidschan, Armenien, Belarus, Bosnien und Herzegowina, Bulgarien, Estland, Georgien, Kasachstan, Kirgisistan, Lettland, Litauen, Moldau, Polen, Rumänien, Russland, Serbien, Slowenien, Ukraine, Ungarn.
  • GRAFÖG - Aufstockung auf die Landesgraduiertenförderung
  • Wer sein Studium in Deutschland über einen Studienkredit finanziert, kann sich beim Kreditinstitut über eine einmalige Aufstockung des Kredits informieren. Studenten, die finanziell durch einen Bildungsfond unterstützt werden, informieren sich bei der jeweiligen Organisation über die Möglichkeit einer Sonderauszahlung für eine Summer Session im Ausland.
  • Eventuell bietet sich auch eine Nachfrage beim für das Zielland zuständigen Amt wegen Auslands-Bafög an.

There are two different programs on offer in the summer of 2019, including Global Summer School and Summer Research Internship.

Global Summer School

2019 SJTU Global Summer School runs two sessions from July to August, including a two-week session that focuses on Chinese Policy, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Urban Horticulture; a four-week session that offers course in Chinese Creativity, China Studies and Brain facts. In addition, free Chinese Language and Culture is offered as optional course to all students. Global Summer School provides international students with a unique experience of Chinese culture and history through a combination of lectures, workshops and field trips.

SJTU Summer Research Internship

In 2019, SJTU offers 55 world-class research projects for oversea undergraduate students which covers 12 fields including mechanical engineering, electronic information and electronic engineering, agriculture and pharmacy, etc. The internship lasts six weeks. All students admitted will be waived of tuition fee and they have the chance to be awarded scholarships offered by SJTU. Students can have chance to attend in the paper-writing process and served as a co-author on one publication. Summer research internship will help you lay the foundation for career.
