Have you already been working for some time in research, or have already completed your doctoral degree? Are you now ready to plan the next step of your career and would like to improve your professional prospects by spending a period of time abroad? Then apply for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship. Through this programme, the European Commission supports experienced researchers wishing to spend a limited period of time working abroad. You are free to choose your own research topic. Who can apply? Requirements for applicants include the following: •completed doctoral degree or at least four years of full-time research experience •confirmation from a host institution at which the research project will be conducted •compliance with the mobility rule: researchers must not have been living or working in the destination country for more than twelve months during the three years before submitting their application What form does funding take? The grant provides an allowance to cover living, travel and family costs. In addition, a research allowance is granted and management and indirect costs are supported. The host organisation, usually a university, research centre or a company in Europe, is required to employ fellows on a full-time employment contract subject to social security contributions. European Fellowships last from one to two years, Global Fellowships from two to three years. When is the closing date for applications? The application must be submitted jointly with a representative of the host organisation. The closing date for applications is 14 September 2016.
