Fachvortrag Daimler AG

How artificial intelligence makes cars fit for the future

Partially automated, highly automated, or fully automated? Daimler has always been one of the pioneers in enhancing safety and comfort through intelligent driving assistance systems. Machine learning serves as a basis of automated driving functions of Mercedes cars since many years.

As a response to one of the biggest challenges of our time, Daimler already showed in 2013 that fully automated driving in urban and inter-city traffic is possible with near-production systems. To enable autonomous driving for everybody, we are keen on improving sensor technology and developing cutting edge algorithms for an improved understanding of traffic scenes.

Machine perception, based on deep neural networks, has become a quintessential method in this area. Information processing with computer vision helps to understand complex urban scenes using sensor data from camera and LiDAR for a human-level performance.

Target audiences are students and professionals with computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering background
