Strasbourg -City between two Nations-

Saturday, 21 July 2018, 9:45-19:45
We will meet at Karlsruhe train station.

IScO / STK - excursion and seminar on regional culture:

Where the Rhine marks the border between France and Germany, there is a strange mixture of closeness and distance between the people of the two sides of the border. It is visible in culture, architecture, and even ju-risdiction. Let us explore the reasons for this, in a casual atmosphere !

On 21st July 2018, at 9.45 h we will meet at Karlsruhe train station for an informative breakfast, to then carry on with an excursion to Strasbourg, the European city, so strongly characterized by two nations. Our guide Helmut Schneider will explain, how the „to and fro“ of Strasbourg‘s history has left its marks on the cityscape, its inhabitants and their culture.

There will be further stops for background information, while tasting some of the delicacies of the local cui-sine, and of course time for free roaming around in this beautiful, very European town.
We plan to be back in Karlsruhe around 19:45h. (Alternative arrangements can be made.)

Costs/ Payment
In order to secure a place, please register before July 18th 2018. Your participation fee €15-20 (depending on the number of participants) will cover the return trip to Stras-bourg and the guides. It is payable at the train station before departure.
