Research Assistantships for Doctoral Candidates from abroad

(1-5 months, workload about 5 hours per week)

In the context of the DAAD-STIBET-program, we offer research assistantships for doctoral candidates from abroad carrying out their doctoral projects at KIT.

The aim is to integrate doctoral candidates into their chair´s research activities and to acquaint them with scientific activities different from their own research projects. Applications are possible at any stage of the PhD-project.

The research assistantships are arranged in accordance with DAAD-guidelines. The overall workload adds up to 5 hours per week which corresponds to comparable workloads of regular student assistants (Wissenschaftliche Hilfskräfte).

Type of funding: Research Assistantship.
Period of funding: 1 - 5 months (depending on research activities).
Monthly rate of funding: ca. 400,-- € per month.
Application Deadlines: Any time.


Documents required:

  • Application letter by the supervisor confirming and explaining the content of the additional research project,
  • CV of the candidate,
  • For doctoral candidates who started at KIT after 1st January 2015: registration at KHYS 
  • For doctoral candidates who started well before that date: official letter of acceptance from their department (Fakultät)
