Annual Reception with Federal Minister Anja Karliczek at the Consulate General in San Francisco

On February 23, 2020, the Consulate General, together with Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Technical University of Munich (TUM), and the German Research Foundation (DFG), invited to the Annual Reception. More than 280 alumni from the San Francisco Bay Area, of these, 90 of KIT, attended this event in the presence of Federal Minister Karliczek.

It is a major goal of the Internationalization Strategy of KIT to develop and support platforms or means to initiate collaboration in science and to build bridges to scientific communities in various countries. One of these platforms is KIT LINK, a project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). It is aimed at establishing a transatlantic network between Silicon Valley, KIT, and the State of Baden-Württemberg and leveraging synergies in the areas of artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, and applied computer science. The alumni and research alumni in the San Francisco Bay Area represent an important cornerstone in the collaboration of leading universities, research institutions, and companies with the KIT. The Annual Reception in the presence of Federal Minister Karliczek provided the alumni with the opportunity to exchange experience and ideas with KIT and each other.
