VIVA TECHNOLOGY is the most important event for start-ups and innovation players in France. The fourth edition took place May 16th to 18th in Paris. The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Arts et Métiers, the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the University of Passau, the Mines-Télécom Institute (IMT), the French INSA Lyon University, the Franco-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Franco-German University collaborated to create a “French-German space for Industry of the future” where they presented transnational cooperation projects in education and innovation.
The eight institutions presented their expertise and activities in the field of Industry 4.0. They invited 26 start-ups from their innovation ecosystems who presented their innovative solutions in various domains.
The KIT and Arts et Métiers presented the collaborative "French-German Institute for Industry of the Future" and their research in the fields of Virtual and Augmented Reality, Production Systems, Advanced Manufacturing Processes and Robotics. In order to enlarge our space this year SAP sponsored the French-German Institute for Industry of the Future.
The four KIT start-ups present at the booth are active in the fields of User Experience / UX (Unsertimes Solutions GmbH), Human-Machine Interaction and Gesture Control (Kinemic GmbH), Microfluidics and Miniature Actuation (Memetis GmbH) as well as Innovative Chemical Energy Conversion (Ineratec GmbH).
The start-ups from Arts et Métiers presented innovative solutions for drone signage (AeroMess), the design and production of personalized medical implants (Bone 3D), AI in combination with geolocalization (Zozio) and for mechatronics (T2M). The start-ups of the French-German Institute for Industry of the Future had the opportunity to pitch their companies to a professional audience at the joint booth.
The space was inaugurated by the German Minister of State for Digitisation, Dorothee Bär, and Prof. David Capitant, President of the Franco-German University and Professor at the Sorbonne in Paris. Many other esteemed guests visited the space and exchanged ideas with the partners and the start-ups: His Royal Highness Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands, France's State Secretary for Digital Affairs Cédric O, German ambassador Dr. Nikolaus Mayer-Landrut, Swiss State Secretary for Education, Research and Innovation Martina Hirayama, EU Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs Pierre Moscovici, former Minister for European Affairs Nathalie Loiseau, a delegation of French senators, and representatives of Baden-Württemberg as well as representatives of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
