KIT alumni at reception in Consulate General San Francisco

In mid-January, the German Consulate General held a New Year's Reception in San Francisco. Participating as invited guests were alumni of German universities, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the German Research Foundation (DFG), who live and research in the Bay Area. Among them was Volker Joehnk, KIT graduate and alumni scout in the Silicon Valley and Samsung senior IT director. Representing the KIT alumni in San Francisco and the surrounding area, he briefly looked back to the year 2017 and ahead to 2018.

The reception at the Consulate General took up the idea of a sustainable exchange between KIT with its alumni network and Silicon Valley, following the suggestions of KIT's alumni seminar in Silicon Valley in September 2017. The KIT alumni had actively participated in the seminar, discussing ways to develop cooperation and deepen contacts with companies and personalities who feel connected to the KIT.
