Award SCHROFF
International Excellence Award 2023

Professor Thalappil Pradeep from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT) in Chennai receives the first International Excellence Award of KIT and the Fellowship of SCHROFF Foundation. Prof. Pradeep will stay at KIT for an up-to-six-months research period. KIT honors the renowned chemist and his fundamental research in the field of nanoscience and the application of novel nanomaterials for drinking water purification. The award also includes an invitation to stay at KIT.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivan Balykin, LL.M., will speak on "Crossroads of Culture: A Journey from Ukraine to Germany", as well as the intersections of his personal and professional life, unveiling the transitions from Ukraine to the scholarly landscapes of Germany and his aspirations for the future in Germany, from immersive teaching methods to co-founding the educators' community at NGO "Progresylni". He will present his current research on "Memory and Ideological Legacies", understanding the intricate connections between memory narratives, social movements, and identity politics.

International Excellence Talk by Prof. Dr. Cziczo

Prof. Dr. Daniel Cziczo will give an overview on November 29, 2023 at 17:00 PM (CET), of aircraft measurements and studies that contribute to a better understanding of atmospheric chemistry, precipitation and climate, focusing on developments in recent years in the field of atmospheric research. Modern instrumentation now helps to determine the particle composition in the upper troposphere/lower stratosphere, which was largely unknown until a few years ago.
