The CESAER network comprises 54 leading universities in science and technology from 26 European countries. Since 1990 the member universities have focused on developing and improving the education of engineers throughout Europe.
The President of KIT, Professor Holger Hanselka, was unanimously elected to the Board of Directors of CESAER at the end of October 2017 in Budapest. The Board of Directors represents the members. New President of CESAER from 2018 is Professor Sir Jim McDonald, Director and Vice Chancellor of the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.
There are nine working groups within CESAER, including international cooperation, open science and benchmarking. The member universities agreed at the conference to present in a joint paper how they are working to achieve the United Nations goals for sustainable development.
